If you’re planning on a holiday proposal, you might want to take a few notes from the way Mitch and Allie’s journey to “I do” began!

“After spending Christmas with my family at my home in Arkansas, Mitch pretended to fly back to Dallas ‘for work’ when in reality he stuck around in Little Rock all day while waiting to propose,” Allie shares.

So imagine her surprise when, during a faux “girl’s night” Mitch had arranged at a hotel known for its holiday décor, Allie noticed a beautiful arrangement of flowers with a card bearing her name. “The card pointed me to one of the Christmas trees on display where Mitch had hidden the ring box. Once I found the ring box, I turned around and he was there down on one knee. We spent the rest of the night celebrating over dinner and drinks with my family.”

Just as in Mitch’s carefully-planned proposal, meaningful moments with family and friends abounded throughout the couple’s wedding day. The couple exchanged vows at Royal Lane Baptist church, where Mitch’s uncle served as the officiating pastor.

The bride’s sisters served as bridesmaids and walked the aisle to “Canon in D” – “We played this as a duet, two girls on each piano, at a recital during childhood,” Allie says. Both families prayed over the couple during their ceremony, and a mutual friend from Baylor University played the guitar and sang as the couple took communion.

When it came to their reception at the Dallas Country Club, creating a top-notch experience for their 325 guests was a high priority for Allie and Mitch. “It was super important to us that our guests felt wined and dined, as next to faith, family and friends mean the world to us! We wouldn’t be getting married without them and wanted them to have just as much fun as us,” says Allie, who cites elegant arrangements by Garden Gate as her favorite decorative element.

The personal theme of the evening continued as guests signed a cutting board embellished with the couple’s initials (“We now have it hanging in our kitchen!”) and the groom sliced into a custom Baylor-themed cake created by Cretia’s. After filling their plates with offerings from multiple food stations – Asian stir-fry was the runaway hit of the evening – guests headed to the dance floor and didn’t leave until “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars closed out the evening!

As for the couple’s favorite memory from their wedding day? “I remember getting in the car and seeing the confetti still coming down and the trumpet players from Downtown Fever sending us out to ‘When The Saints Go Marching In,’” Allie recalls. “Mitch and I kissed and had the biggest smiles on our faces…we both knew that this had been hands down one of the best nights of our lives. We still talk about tiny details and fun memories now, more than six months later! In my eyes, it was my dream fairytale night!”

Now THAT is the kind of story that makes us want to use the hashtag #weloveourjobs all over everything! Congratulations, Allie and Mitch – it was truly a privilege to be a part of bringing your fairytale to life!
